Open farms offer visitors the opportunity of seeing and coming into contact with animals – a valuable activity that brings many benefits and pleasure to children and adults alike.

Visiting these venues presents a generally low, but possible, risk of visitors acquiring infection from the animals. However, where practices are poor on individual farms, risks may be higher.
