Fun & Interesting for all ages! Aug 2020
Just back from Leahys. I went with my eldest son (2) who is stone wall bonkers about diggers and tractors, machinery in general really. He loved the mini diggers, (which we had been talking about for a month prior and was what brought me to the attraction from Kilkenny) just as much as the vintage fire engine and tractors. It was very quiet when we were there which really enhanced the experience for us. We loved seeing all the animals and the numerous play areas. We had our lunch there and bought some presents in the chocolate factory. I went on the slide and the go carts and loved all the old machinery and items. I’d say we didn’t see half of it as we were racing around the place and few items closed due to
Covid but I’m sure we will be going back for years to come! All the staff were very friendly a special mention to Ciara and Eddie himself! “LOOK MAMMY” will be ringing in my ears for weeks to come ☺️
Fantastic open farm with so much to do. Aug 2020
This farm is absolutely brilliant…my young kids loved every bit of it…from the playground, the golf, the animals, the maze and much more. They absolutely loved the Barrell ride and my son loved the diggers. He is still talking about it.
It is well cleaned and there is sanitizer everywhere which is good to see. There are as also a girl cleaning the playground. We had lunch there too which was lovely. So much to do and see and would easily spend hours here. I would highly recommend
Outstanding! Aug 2020
Had the best family day out ever and for such a great price. From the minute we walked in the door until we left 4 hours later, my 2 small kids, aged 4 and 2 were kept entertained. I believe it to be one of the best value for money places we have visited. There was everything from animals, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, go karts, barrel train, maze, fairy gardens, museums, the list goes on. There really is something for every one, no matter your age. It costs €2 extra for a ride on a real mini digger. We thought this was great value. A ride on the bumpers at our local funfair costs €3 so for my 2 year old to get to control a real mini digger for €2 was excellent value. It rained for some of our visit but there was plenty to do indoors so weather isn’t really an issue. We didn’t sample the food but looked lovely. There were plenty picnics tables to have your own picnic outside so we did that. We also did the chocolate lolly pop making and the kids loved it. We will definitely be back and we only wish we lived a little closer so we could make use of the annual membership. Outstanding value for an outstanding day. As for COVID, there were sanitisers every where and they were working a one way system so we felt safe every where we went. Well done Leahys
Super Day! Aug 2020
A great day out…5⭐
A great expierence, from start to finish. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Lots to do for all ages. Will be sure to return😊
Fantastic day out! Aug 2020
Visited with 3 small children. Everything was amazing. The kids loved the diggers the pedal cars and the zip line. There was staff at the petting area ensuring people were keeping to one way and proper distance between groups. The maze was great fun and the museum areas very informative. The farm is spotless and very well kept it’s a credit to the staff. The kids only complaint was that they didn’t have enough time to do everything and didn’t want to home, will definitely return.
Great Day Out! Jul 2020
Highly highly recommend for day out. They really comply with covid 19. Sanitiser absolutely everywhere. It is at every corner of the place. My 4 year old had a ball. Sun was shinning day we visited. Diggers and crazy golf and barrel ride great fun. Easily spend day here. little girl loved the horses. We have been here few times and will def be back again.
Great day out and felt safe. Jul 2020
Just back from Leahy’s Open Farm and if your venturing out with a young family like we have and your unsure of going out during these strange times, then this is the place to go. We are on holidays in Kinsale, Cork at the moment and decided to go to Leahy’s Open Farm today. From the moment we arrived we felt at ease and safe that all precautions and safety measures were in place. All the staff were wearing PPE in the cafe and ice cream shop. Plenty of hand sanitizer placed all around the farm. Toilet’s being cleaned, equipment being used by customers cleaned down, even outdoor seating. It’s a fantastic farm lots to do for all age groups. Kids loved the big tunnel slide and especially loved the barrel train around the forest, lots of outdoor playground. The 4 year old was a little disappointed that the indoor play area was closed but I explained why. Food was absolutely gorgeous and plenty to choose from. Staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly. It’s a little expensive for adults to pay but I actually didn’t mind paying because it was a great day out and felt so safe with the kids. Thanks for a great day.
Fabulous Day out for all the family! Jun 2020
Our first proper outing somewhere since mid-March due to the lock-down. We were so excited when we heard it was open! All of us were so impressed! Not only is there so much for the kids to do but us adults had a great time with the tunnel slides, the barrel ride, the ropes, etc. The staff were so friendly; and in Covid-19 era there was hand santizer literally around every corner, there were one-way systems in place in necessary areas. It was safe and adhered to the regulations without being too rigid and destroying the fun. Well done to all, you really have put a lot of work in to re-opening. Such a fabulous place. 100% recommend and we’ll definitely be back.
Everything you could want to entertain the kids! I felt it was better for small kids than Fota – nothing wrong with Fota but the farm is much more interactive and great fun for them. Yes, a few things are extra but they’re small fees. Just make sure you bring some change.

Great day out. July 29th 2017
A fantastic day, its was the last day of our holidays before we headed back to tipp, it was so lovely to look back at all the old items of days gone by, and explaining to the children all about the olden days, the farm WAS great fun, the train was brilliant, the play center was lovely, and the outside play barn was so cool, your coffee shop is 5 ★, the staff were really really nice, you’d just know they love working there,(I even caught one dancing) it was so funny, I lost my 8 year old (he was off having fun) and the farm was so big 2 staff members helped find him, I can’t wait to go again,
Fantastic day out. 05/08/2017
Just back from a full day at the farm. Literally arrived at 11am and didn’t leave till 5pm!!! There was so much to do for my two boys (3 & 4yrs). Lots of fun playgrounds to burn off energy and a little indoor soft play if it was raining. My two loved the stroll around the museum as well as taking full advantage of all the fun to be found on the farm from climbing frames to zip lines to diggers and go karts. The animals on display looked happy and well cared for and great the kiddies got to feed and interact with some of them. Pig racing and dog show were a great success. Lots of little areas where you could sit down for a picnic but we loved the picnic area at the front of the farm where there was a little playground. All in all the kids had lots of freedom and fun so will definitely be returning. Saw something about a pumpkin patch so maybe for hallowe’en. Thank you to all the very friendly staff both on the farm and in the cafe. Very well staffed.
We went as a family of 2 adults & 3 kids – 2 of whom were a bit dubious on a farm visit …..now they cant wait to go back again.
You could easily spend a whole day here – we spent all afternoon & could have spent a lot longer there. Actual REAL JCB DIGGERS – our 3 girls were in their element !
Petting animals including a snake to a chicken – such a diverse range of animals – big slides – gocarting – mirror hall …the list goes on….& what really makes it is the staff – all willing to give you as much information as possible for you to enjoy the day.
We went to the Boo Haloween experience – which was great – however even without this being on it would have been as the girls put it – The Best Day Ever !!
So thanks Leahys – we will be back 🙂
Highly recommend you visit Leahys. Such warm welcoming people who make your visit personal and go out of their way to involve you in their farm. Our kids loved every minute. Lots to do and see. Food was lovely and the ice cream from Daisy is a must!!!
My first visit to Leahys Open Farm yesterday and to be honest I was blown away with the whole set up. I anticipated that we would spend a few hours looking around but we ended up staying until after closing! There is just so much to do for every age. It’s almost hard to pack it all into the one day. The kids loved it and it’s really interactive. Farmer Liam, farmer Donal & all the staff are exceptional in their approach and it’s obvious that their primary goal is that you enjoy your day with them. Great value too and almost no ‘upselling’ that is so common in other similar attractions. We’ll be back again soon and will be looking forward to Haloween & Christmas at Leahys. Well done to everyone involved on providing a top class, good value product for locals & tourists alike. You deserve an award.
Day trip to Leahy’s
Drove down from Clonmel with 3 adults, a 15year old, a 9year old and an 8year old…was worried they would be too old for it but we all had a fantastic day. Despite being really busy the place was absolutely spotless with loads to do for all ages, the staff were really friendly and its great value for money as everything (except the diggers and crazy golf) is included in the entry fee. I couldn’t recommend Leahy’s pet farm highly enough…well worth a visit!!
Great Birthday Party at Leahy’s
I want to say a huge thank you to Teresa Leahy and Leahys Open Farm for the amazing party Elijah and Jonah had there today. We have membership and this week alone we visited the farm 5 times and even though we are always there, each and every visit is different. Today’s visit just topped all other visits, the party met all our expectations and more. Adults and children alike were all catered for everyone left happy an…d tired, everyone said it was such a great party and the three hours slipped by so quickly, time really does fly when your having fun. I would highly recommend this venue for a party for any age, it would be just as perfect a place for a 40th as it is for a 4 year old 🙂 You just can’t go past it for value for money and total entertainment for all the family ….book us in for next year again 🙂
Great day out for all the family
I went today with my sisters and our kids. We knew we were in for a treat because we’ve been at Christmas. It just ticks… all the boxes. The staff are such craic, so so so many animals, the kids adored it, the animals are within reach and you can feed them. My 4 year old niece laughed the whole time. My own 12 year old enjoyed it so much too. It suits all ages. They are doing such a good job down there. Not to be missed. Can’t wait to return.
“Best open farm in Ireland!”

” We travelled from Fermanagh for a week long break in Cork. We visited Leahy’s Open Farm on 15 July 2015. I would really recommend this open farm to anyone, it was excellent from start to finish. We have 3 kids – they loved the open farm, having arrived at 11.30am, we were one of the last ones to leave. Eddie was a pleasure to talk to – showing us many objects which he collected over the years, this farm is undoubtedly an education for young and old! The displays were excellent, all thoroughly enjoyed by all. The farm is good value for money, my kids particularly enjoyed the mini diggers and petting the animals – including a snake!!!!! I would highly recommend this farm to anyone and we have travelled to many open farms over the years! Well done to Eddie and the rest of the Leahy family and staff – a credit to you all! “Visited July 2015

“Had my boys birthday party there on the 5th July.
It was amazing. Our party host Emily was fantastic, child oriented and 100% fun. All the guests and parents enjoyed themselves, the weather was amazing and surroundings top notch.
Cafe staff would need a bit of a customer care training just to make things work perfectly.
I would recommend Leahys for ur kids party over and over again.”Visited July 2015
“Fantastic family day out”
Reviewed 15 July 2015
“We visited Leahy’s open farm in July 2015 and had a fantastic day.Have never visited a fun farm that matches up. So much to do, excellent adventure-type playgrounds, a fun maze, lots of animals to see, a barrel ride and diggers to try out.
A friendly member of staff ensured that everyone got a turn on the digger ride, and that all children were able to feed the animals if they wanted to.
Once we were all tired out and in need of a rest we had a delicious freshly-made sandwich in the cafe. The kids were well-entertained in the playground beside the cafe (which also has excellent play facilities) and just when we were about to leave we found the indoor play barn, so spent another relaxing hour having delicious coffee while the children enjoyed themselves.
We all agreed it was the best day out we had had in a long time. We wish that we lived nearer so that we could go again but will definitely be back one day and would recommend to anyone looking for a family day out in Co. Cork! Loved it, well done Leahy’s! ” Visited July 2015
“Exceptional afternoon of fun, adventure and new experiences for all ages”
Reviewed 9 July 2015
“This was a real pleasant surprise. I expected a typical farm but this is way way more. I’m sorry we didn’t arrive earlier. It would easily fill 4 hours or more as there is so much to do. Plenty of indoor and outdoor facilities. Even though it drizzled for the afternoon it was excellent as there was so much to do and see – loads of animals, quad bike rides, go-karting, slides, climbing frames and the best maze ever for kids – totally safe and great fun.
The staff were really exceptional – really helpful and friendly.
It’s really clean, tidy and litter free with loads of hand sanitising facilities too. Well worth the 9 euro entry fee per person (plus 2 euro per child for the JCB) as we all got so much out of it. Great value for money.
1. Make sure to bring water bottles for the kids as they are so active running for 3 hours they will be thirsty.
2. To have a go on the JCBs is the only added extra so it’s best to have each child forewarned that one spin on the JCB is allowed to save the children asking for more and more 2 euros for the whole afternoon!
Will definitely return…but will allow more time next time as there is so much to do/see/experience.” Visited July 2015

“My grandson had his birthday party here last week, it was a fantastic day enjoyed by children and adults. We were looked after very well. There was so much to do , there are play areas indoors and outdoors, Maize was great, then they all got a spin in a barrel train. He got to work a real digger which he loved. Then they got to hold a mouse and a snake, milk and feed the goats. Cant imagine a better birthday than that, it was also great value. Will definatly be back” Visited June 2015
