A calf is a baby cow. Cows produce the milk which is then sent to the creamery.
Here it is pasteurised and put into containers, which are sold in the supermarkets.
At Leahys Open Farm we have two calves called Amber and Ginger. We have watched them grow over the last couple of months. We began by feeding them warm milk bottles four times a day with help from visitors to the farm. Now they have grown older, they have moved outside to our paddocks where they enjoy relaxing in the sun, lots of grass and gentle rubs from passer-by’s.
